Fletcher, speaking on behalf of the grieving family, said they had remained silent in the immediate aftermath to grieve privately and carefully prepare their response.

“You never imagine the passing of a loved one becoming high-profile… or a massively divisive, political topic,” she wrote in a lengthy post shared widely on social media. “We needed time to come together as a family first.”Addressing the rumors head-on, Fletcher was unequivocal: Renee Nicole Good did not have a criminal record.

“These claims are false. Completely fabricated. Some people are even posting information about the wrong ‘Renee Good’ entirely,” she stated. “We will not allow her name to be dragged through lies while we are still trying to breathe through this nightmare.”

The statement comes amid growing national attention on the January 7 incident, when Renee was shot and killed by a federal immigration agent during what witnesses described as a routine traffic stop in Minneapolis. Her partner, Becca Good, was with her at the time and was not injured. No weapons were recovered from Renee, and the agent has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation.
