HHTO – Netflix is ​​introducing a new series called “The Rip,” featuring the reunion of veteran duo Damon and Affleck, considered a highly anticipated choice for fans of American police and crime dramas.

The Rip tells the story of a police team in Miami, Florida, who stumble upon a massive amount of cash in an abandoned house. When the information leaks, outside forces begin to take notice, leading to suspicion and distrust among the team members. Everything descends into chaos, trust erodes, transforming the pursuit of justice into a tense and life-threatening ordeal.

According to director and screenwriter Joe Carnahan, the title “The Rip” is inspired by the term “rip” used in the American police force, referring to the seizure of evidence such as weapons, drugs, or cash during raids.

Carnahan also stated that “The Rip” is partly inspired by the real-life experiences of a close friend who works in the police force in Miami, as well as his love for classic crime films from previous decades such as Serpico (1973), Prince of the City (1981), and Michael Mann’s Heat (1995).

“The Rip” is a story about a battle of wits and a battle of hearts.

Besides its compelling subject matter, The Rip is also highly anticipated by audiences as it marks the on-screen reunion of veteran duo Matt Damon and Ben Affleck after two years, since Air (2023).
