THE LAST WITCH HUNTER 2 (2026)

Genre: Action, Fantasy, Dark Fantasy

Director: Chad Stahelski

Writer: based on the original concept

Main Cast: Vin Diesel (Kaulder), Rose Leslie (Chloe), Elijah Wood (Dolan 37), and new characters.

In 2026, the modern world still hides the darkness of magic beneath its surface. Kaulder — the last Witch Hunter — has lived for over 800 years and witnessed countless empires rise and fall. After destroying the Witch Queen in the battle in New York in 2015, Kaulder thought he could finally rest. He lives in seclusion in an old house on the outskirts of the city, drinking heavily and trying to blend in with humanity. But immortality leaves him lonely, and the recurring nightmares of his family being burned alive still haunt him every night.

The film opens with a brutal action sequence in Iceland. A team of archaeologists unearths an ancient tomb beneath the permafrost. The moment they touch a broken sword and a black stone mask, a surge of dark energy explodes. Dozens of people die horribly, their bodies shriveled as if their life force has been completely drained. The news reports it as a “toxic gas disaster,” but Kaulder knows immediately: The Hollow King has awakened.

The Hollow King is an entity far older than the Witch Queen. He was sealed away more than 1,500 years ago by both witches and hunters. He is not an ordinary sorcerer but the embodiment of emptiness — a king who sold his soul to become a gateway between the world of the living and an endless abyss. His goal is to erase all life and create a “permanently silent world.”

Kaulder receives an urgent summons from the new Hunters’ Order. Dolan 37 (Elijah Wood), now the leader, is older and wearier but remains loyal. He reveals that the Hollow King is not only more powerful but can also “steal” the memories and strength of the dead. Every time he kills a witch or hunter, he grows stronger. Chloe (Rose Leslie) — the former “Dreamwalker” — is now a mature woman and an expert in ancient magic. She and Kaulder share a complex relationship: one of mutual respect and restrained romantic tension.

The journey begins. Kaulder, Chloe, and a small team of two young hunters (one male, one female) travel to Iceland. There, they discover a new rising cult called The Silent Choir. Its members voluntarily sacrifice themselves so the Hollow King can consume their souls, in exchange for “merging into eternal silence.” The cult spreads rapidly through social media as a dark ASMR trend and the “30 Days of Silence” challenge.

Inside the ice cave, Kaulder experiences fear for the first time in centuries. When facing an avatar of the Hollow King — a gigantic shadow wearing a crown of bones — Kaulder’s axe-sword shatters. The entity whispers into his ear: “You are immortal, but I will make you beg for death.” The Hollow King steals a portion of Kaulder’s memories of his wife and children, nearly causing him to lose control.

The film shifts into high gear with intense urban battles. The Hollow King spreads the “Curse of Silence” through electromagnetic waves and dreams. People in New York begin falling into a hollow state, standing motionless like statues with black blood streaming from their eyes. Chloe uses her Dreamwalker abilities to enter the “Abyss” — a parallel dimension where time stands still. There, she witnesses Kaulder’s true past: he was once an ordinary Viking warrior cursed with immortality by the first Witch Queen after he killed her daughter.

Major Twist: The Hollow King is the husband of the original Witch Queen. He has awakened to take revenge and complete the curse his wife could not finish. Furthermore, one of the two young hunters is a traitor — a descendant of Hollow blood, manipulated since childhood.

The climax takes place in an abandoned ancient cathedral in the heart of Manhattan, where the two worlds collide. The Hollow King reveals his true form: a colossal skeleton wearing a tattered black cloak, surrounded by hundreds of stolen souls turned into black threads. Kaulder fights without mercy. He loses one arm in battle (which later regenerates due to his immortality) and uses his own blood to draw an ancient sealing rune.

Chloe makes a temporary sacrifice, diving into the Abyss to pull back the stolen souls, creating an opening for Kaulder. He forges a new sword from the fragments of his old blade and the bones of the Hollow King, then delivers the final blow. In the final moment, Kaulder says goodbye to the memory of his family: “I kept my promise. Now I can keep living.”

The Hollow King dissolves in a soundless scream, but before vanishing, he leaves a final curse: “Immortality is not a gift, Kaulder. It is a prison.”

Ending: Kaulder survives, his arm regenerating. Chloe wakes up, and the two share a gentle kiss — a sign of a new beginning. Dolan 37 smiles tiredly: “Retirement this time, right?” Kaulder looks out at the city, where faint shadows still linger, and replies: “There is no retirement for men like me.”

Post-Credit Scene: In a remote village in Africa, a young girl touches an ancient stone. Her eyes glow black. A whisper echoes: “The Mother of Hollows has awakened…”
