Runtime: 118 minutes

In the vast deserts of the ancient Akkadian Empire around 3000 BC, an ancient darkness awakens. Pharaoh Memnon, ruler of a mighty empire with an undefeated army and the dark sorceress Cassandra, is preparing a final sacrificial ritual to summon the “Scorpion King” – a death god from the underworld, granting him ultimate destructive power. Memnon believes that with the blood of “the Chosen One” – a warrior carrying the bloodline of both god and man – he will become the immortal lord of the entire world.

Mathayus, a legendary mercenary known as “The Scorpion” for his silent, deadly skills like a desert scorpion, is living a wandering life with his close friends: Arpid, a clever thief, and Jesup, a massive black warrior. They accept a contract from a small king threatened by Memnon: assassinate Cassandra to disrupt the ritual. With a reward of gold and a free kingdom, Mathayus agrees.

The journey begins in the bustling city of Gomorrah. Mathayus sneaks into the palace disguised as a slave. On a full moon night, he confronts Cassandra — not an old witch, but a beautiful young woman with eyes that can see the future. As Mathayus raises his blade, Cassandra whispers: “You are not here to kill me… You are the one who will save me.” Her vision reveals that Mathayus is the “Chosen One” Memnon has been seeking. Before he can react, the royal guards burst in. Mathayus fights his way out, taking Cassandra hostage.

While fleeing across the deadly desert, the two begin to change. Cassandra reveals her secret: she was kidnapped by Memnon as a child and forced to serve him by witnessing horrific deaths. She does not want the ritual to succeed because it will open the gates of hell, releasing millions of giant scorpion spirits. Mathayus is initially skeptical, but when Memnon’s army pursues them with sorcerous scorpion-hybrid beasts, he starts to believe her.

Mathayus’s group reunites at a secret oasis. They meet the Horus tribe — ancient desert warriors who worship the scorpion as a symbol of rebirth. The tribe’s blind but powerful chieftain reveals Mathayus’s true heritage: he is the last descendant of the legendary Scorpion King, who once sealed away the evil god thousands of years ago. To defeat Memnon, Mathayus must travel to the Black Temple on the Mountain of Ashes, where the Sword of Light — the only weapon capable of killing the Scorpion God — is hidden.

The journey is filled with hardships: they survive a massive sandstorm, battle hordes of giant underground scorpions, and face betrayal from within. Arpid nearly dies after Cassandra foresees his dark future. Jesup sacrifices himself heroically in a great battle against Memnon’s forces at a mountain pass. Before dying, Jesup tells Mathayus: “You’re no longer a mercenary. You are a king.”

At the Black Temple, Memnon is waiting. He has captured Cassandra and begun the ritual. Mathayus storms in alone and engages in an epic duel with Memnon, who possesses superhuman strength through dark magic. During the fierce fight, Memnon stabs Mathayus in the chest, seemingly ending him. But the divine blood awakens: the wound heals instantly, Mathayus’s skin transforms into shiny black chitin armor like a scorpion, and his eyes glow golden. He becomes the true Scorpion King — half man, half god.

The final battle takes place on top of the temple. Memnon successfully summons the giant Scorpion Demon, a monstrous creature with hundreds of claws. Mathayus, empowered by his new abilities, charges into a brutal fight. He drives the Sword of Light through the beast’s heart, resealing the gates of hell. Cassandra uses her remaining power to destroy Memnon’s magic. The undefeated Pharaoh is beheaded by Mathayus in front of his entire army.

After victory, Mathayus becomes the new King of Akkad. Though he never desired the throne, the people and tribes kneel before him, honoring “The Scorpion King” — a symbol of justice and protective strength. Cassandra stands by his side, no longer a slave to the future but a free companion.

Post-credits scene: Mathayus and Cassandra stand on a hill overlooking the endless desert. She asks, “What is our future?” Mathayus smiles, touching his sword: “Our future is what we make it. And I will protect it… with the venom of the scorpion.”

The screen fades to black with the roar of a sandstorm and the silhouette of a warrior on a black horse riding into the sunset, promising more adventures to come.
