The men sitting under the small shelter near the shop laughed at first. Some thought the old man was exaggerating again, while others believed he had simply imagined it after a long morning by the river. But Samir looked far too terrified. His hands were shaking, his clothes were soaked, and he was breathing so heavily as if he had been running from something.
“It’s about to fall!” the old man kept shouting. “If it falls, the crocodile will tear it apart immediately!”
After those words, the villagers suddenly fell silent.
Everyone in the village knew that a massive old crocodile had lived beneath the waterfall for many years. Even the hunters were afraid of it. Several times, people had seen the monster drag wild boars and deer underwater when they came to the river. They said the crocodile was so enormous that it could easily flip over a boat.
Within minutes, the men were already running toward the waterfall carrying ropes and long sticks. The roar of the water grew louder and louder, and when they reached the cliff, many of them felt their blood run cold from what they saw.

A massive Bengal tiger was truly hanging onto the slippery rocks almost directly above the cliff’s edge. The raging water kept slamming into the animal’s side while its paws slowly slipped downward. The tiger roared in fear and desperation, trying to hold on, but the current was far too strong.

At that moment, the tiger slipped lower again, and the water almost completely covered its body. A horrifying roar echoed through the air.

“If we don’t pull it out now, it’ll be too late in a minute!” Rahim shouted.

“Are you insane?!” another man yelled. “That’s a tiger! It’ll kill us right after we save it!”
But Rahim was already climbing forward across the wet rocks. The other men exchanged heavy glances before finally following him. The water nearly knocked them off their feet, their clothes became instantly soaked, and the roar of the waterfall was so loud they had to scream directly into each other’s faces.
At first, the tiger began growling even louder, showing its enormous fangs as the men approached, but then something strange happened. The animal seemed to understand they were trying to save it. It stopped struggling and only breathed heavily while clinging to the rock with its paws.
Below them, the crocodile appeared again.
This time, the monster swam so close that the men could see its huge eyes and long jaws.
“Faster! Pull harder!” Samir shouted.
At that moment, the current slammed violently into the tiger’s side, and the animal nearly fell completely. One of the men managed to grab its front paw, but he slipped as well and almost fell into the abyss together with the tiger.
The crocodile below suddenly began moving faster.

For several seconds, the tiger simply stared at the people with its yellow eyes. Then, unexpectedly, it slowly walked toward Rahim – the very man who had nearly fallen into the abyss – and everyone thought he was about to die.
