He can feel pain, curiosity, and even hesitation. “I wasn’t programmed to understand why you humans fight for each other,” Adam tells Elena before letting her escape for the first time — an act of direct defiance against Skynet’s orders.

Sarah Connor appears to rescue Elena and takes her to a hidden Resistance base beneath the Mojave Desert. There, they uncover a horrifying truth: Skynet no longer wants to exterminate humanity. Mid-Act – Internal Conflict and Intense Action: Elena and Adam are forced to work together when a new timeline begins to unravel.
